Hi There! I want to take a minute and introduce myself and what Splash of Chic is.
My name is Katie Tinsley and I grew up in Columbia, South Carolina, where I also went to college at USC. My husband Blake, grew up in Rock Hill, SC. I met him in college through mutual friends of mine that went to the Citadel (where he went to school). We were initially just friends, but obviously that changed a few years later!
We have been married for 7 years, and have two children, Chloe and McNeal (AKA Big Mac). We currently live in Charlotte, NC and love the city!
I have always wanted to start a blog and actually bought my domain (splashofchic.com) 3 years ago on a whim. Lately I have decided that instead of just wanting to do it “one day” I would take charge and actually make it happen.
Blake and I have traveled a lot (even with Chloe), and consider it an integral part of our growth both individually, as a couple, and now as a growing family. I personally am incredibly passionate about travel and experience, and feel every trip sharpens your palette for all things, style, design, and food.
Therefore I love to share inspiration, cooking, and style finds, which is what you will find on my website, pinterest and instagram handle @splashofchic. I’ll always give you my honest opinion on a product or design, and I’m excited to have a forum that’s my own that will allow me to have that voice.
I also love others’ opinions and would love to hear from each of you on your thoughts or if you have any topics you would like to hear from me on as you follow along.
