There is something about a room that is almost there. Our bathroom already had the big pieces I loved: a freestanding tub, classic white cabinetry, marble-look tile, and plenty of natural light. I was not looking for a full renovation. I wanted the space to feel warmer, brighter, and a little more finished without replacing everything that was already working.

It is also a good reminder that you do not always need to gut a space to change its personality. Sometimes the details really do carry the room.

The Freestanding Tub Area

The tub has always been one of my favorite features in this bathroom. The polished brass tub filler instantly made that part of the room feel more elevated, and I love the way it looks against the soft blue-gray walls and all of the natural light from the window.

A simple brass bath tray adds another warm detail without making the space feel overly styled. The goal was to keep the room calm and practical while making it feel more finished.

The Double Vanity

The existing white cabinetry gave us a great neutral foundation, so I did not want to replace it just for the sake of making a change. Instead, the brass faucets, mirrors, sconces, and hardware add warmth and contrast.

The patterned rug helps soften all of the hard surfaces and brings the blue tones together. I think that is one of the reasons the bathroom feels more layered now even though the bones of the room stayed the same.
